Natcom Electronics (Pty) Ltd is a custom electronics and software design house for outsourced projects in the military, security, industrial and communication markets. Natcom provides solutions ranging from concept definitions to system design, installation and production engineering. The Head Office is situated in Durban with a Regional Office situated in Pretoria.

Natcom Electronics was founded in the year 2000 by a group of military communication engineers. The founders saw the need for a dynamic pool of skilled resources able to do design work for custom projects in the commercial sector. As its members had a long history in military communication design they soon refocused on their original area of expertise and in 2002 registered with Armscor as an approved equipment supplier.

Natcom Electronics now specialises in military and rugged industrial communication and control systems and has staff members with expertise and experience in analogue, digital, and Radio Frequency hardware and software design. Specific design and development strengths include Radio Frequency modules, embedded software, and communication protocols, analogue and digital circuit design.
 

Product & services

The System Design and Installation Department (SDID) were established at Silvertondale, Pretoria in 2003. Their responsibilities include information, communication and power distribution system design, installation and maintenance. Typical installations include military fighting vehicles, police and armed response vehicles, fixed sites and repeater sites, mobile containers, marine and industrial platforms.
