Powertech Calidus is a manufacturer and supplier of a comprehensive range of high quality electrical and thermal insulating materials, components, accessories and condition monitoring products as well as technical and value add solutions to the manufacturers and repairers of electrical and thermal equipment in Sub – Sahara Africa. As insulation specialist’s we provide insulation for Low Voltage Motors, High Voltage Motors, Traction, Transformer, Generation as well as the Thermal industry.

Powertech Calidus (Formally known as Calidus Isola) main offices are based in Benrose Johannesburg with two other branches in South Africa, Durban and Cape Town.

Our strategic partners Von Roll Isola and Weidmann are global market in leaders in the Insulation industry. Together we are constantly involved in Product research and Development pursuing innovative solutions for all your insulation and electric needs.

Traction
There is a wide range of insulating materials based on motor specification available to meet the requirements of current traction motor designs that Powertech Calidus offers. These products fall in the following categories, Flat conductors, Banding tapes, Main wall insulation and tapes, flexible materials and liquids. Powertech Calidus offers both materials and process equipment to achieve productivity increases with a fully automated way of applying mastic that replaces the manual process.

Generation and Thermal Insulation

Low Voltage Motors
Powertech Calidus offers a range of insulation products  especially developed for  the low Voltage Motor industry .The characteristics of this range of products is described below:

• High dielectric strengths
• Wide range of heat resistances up to 200 C
• Manufactured under the strictest quality standards
• Our tapes are UL certified (UL E20780 for Intertape and E315249 for Isotape)
