Established in 1971, Surge Technology, trading as Surgetek, specialises in all aspects of lightning and surge protection. Since its inception, the company has played a major role in drafting relevant SABS earthing and lightning protection codes, and their highly experienced staffs has served on the various SABS IEC liaison committees. Surge Technology is listed with the ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Programme and certification was awarded during July 1999.
On 1st October 2004, Prime Empowerment Group Limited (PrimGro), a South African black economic empowerment investment company acquired Surgetek. PrimGro has a strategy of investing in both listed and unlisted companies operating internationally in the fields of Information Communication Technologies (ICT), and energy products, services and solutions. Since 1999, PrimGro’s entrepreneurial and professional founders have combined their commercial experience to build a focused dynamic group that is intent on attaining critical mass within its chosen fields.
Today, Surge Technology is the exclusive distributor for the DEHN + SÖHNE product range in South Africa and in the surrounding 39 Sub-Saharan African countries.
